Black Lake Trail
This is a 4-mile foot trail that circles Black Lake.
The trail map has a history of logging in the Black Lake area and interpretive
text for stops along the trail.
What to expect: This trail is an easy two-hour hike
around Black Lake. About half of the trail has excellent views of Black
Lake.
Directions to the Black Lake Trail:
From Hayward, drive east on County Highway B 23 miles to hte intersection
with County Highway W. Turn left (north) on Barker Lake Road and drive
4.7 miles to the intersection with Fishtrap Road. Continue straight
on FR 172 three miles, turn left (north) on FR 173. Go 0.4 miles, turn
right (east) on the paved campground road (FR 1666).
From Loretta Draper, drive west on Highway 70 for 5 miles to County
Highway B. Turn right (north) on B and drive 4.5 miles to County Highway
W. Turn right (north) on Barker Lake Road and drive 4.7 miles to the
intersection with Fishtrap Road. Continue straight on FR 172 three miles,
turn right (east) on the paved campground road (FR 1666).
