| This
is the second annual trip for
the Gray Fox and his three sons.
The
2002 trip which was the first
trip was a journey from the
Huron Bay Bar to Big Bay.
It
took some traveling along sides
of roads to get to the trail
to take us to Big Bay.
It
is a 50 mile trip to Big Bay
with some beautiful scenery
along the way.
When
there is more snow than there
was, part of the trail is set
up with snow
between
the left and right lanes. You
can really fly on that portion
of the trail.
Once
we got to Big Bay and had lunch
Dad was tired so we got our
room
which
was in a building that used
to be the train station. The
gray fox rested
while
his three sons went for another
ride and took a 35 mile loop.
The
next day we drove back to the
Huron Bay Bar and spent the
night at
Ravenswood
Lodge at Pt. Abbaye. We had
a good time playing "Sheepshead".
Dad has a very sharp mind when
it comes to cards. He knows
everything that has
been
played and how many points he
has. I hope my mind is that
sharp at the
age
of 74.
The
2003 trip we started out at
Silver City and took a 40 mile
loop. The trails were
very
bumpy. Later while dad was relaxing
in the whirlpool we took a 20
mile round trip
ride
to Lake of the Clouds. We showed
some young kids how to hadle
the bumps at high speed.
The
next morning we trailered to
Ravenswood Lodge at Pt. Abbaye.
Dad was a
little
sore from the pounding we took
on the bumps around Silver City
so we
took
the 100 mile ride to Big Bay
and back while he enjoyed the
Lake Superior
shoreline
at the Ravenswood Lodge. |
