February 2002 Snowmobile Trip
"The Crew"
Judge, Mechanic, Chef, Diamond Duke,Tomba, McIver and Scott.
The 7th annual trip with all of the core group except "Eddy." He was unable to make it because we had to
change weekends for the trip because of poor snow conditions. We also had a new man to the group, Scott.
McIver and Scott were coming in from Minnesota so we all metin the UP and drove to Ravenswood Lodge
out on Pt. Abbaye, along the shores of Lake Superior, .
The next morning we headed to our destination in Houghton. The trail was hard to get to from where we
were because of the poor conditions. Once we were on the trail the contions were mainly good.
We ended up getting to Houghton fairly early so we headed up to Eagle River. It was dark when we reached
Eagle River so we decided to stay in Eagle River that night. Luckily we had stayed at the Eagle River Inn in the
past and the owner remembered us and what fine guests we were and was glad to have us.
We helped them find water leak in one of their rooms the last time we were there.
That night the ritual game of "Mexican" was played. There were some violations, some more flagrant than others.
The judge handed out the proper penalty. Tomba got the majority of the fines.
The trip back to Ravenswood Lodge was a nice ride the next day.
We traveled about 335 miles round trip and the majority of the trails were in good condition.
While dinner was being prepared the second night of "Mexican" resumed.
It was another great snowmobiling weekend!
